Background information
The Westland Puma HC.1 was the backbone of the Royal Air Force's (RAF) tactical transport fleet for decades. Based on the French Aerospatiale Puma, it was manufactured under license by Westland in the UK and adapted to the specific needs of the RAF. Its robustness and versatility made it legendary. Regardless of whether it was troop transport, evacuations or supply flights the Puma was always there where there was a fire. Its missions in the Northern Ireland conflict and during the first Gulf War particularly shaped the public image of this helicopter. With this model you pay tribute to a piece of aviation history that recently began its well-deserved retirement.
